Welcome back, Dreammakers, to Today in Mortgages! In this episode, hosts Michael and Richard talk about 2025 mortgage predictions. There’s a lot to look forward to, after another rate cut yesterday. Mortgagereports.com has some broad predictions “2024 housing market: Key takeaways and what lies ahead.”
Some factors that played into the economy in 2024 included
- Prices and inventory (reminder: prices rise, because not enough inventory), in 2025 is probably more of the same plus an increase in homes sold and increase home prices.
- General economy: The economy is strong, even though wallets are pinched, and it will continue to be strong in the coming year.
- Rates. The fed cut their rate by a quarter percent yesterday, and if we hit the Feds target of 2% inflation, rates will continue to come down in 2025.
